Metro Grill (Closed Permanently)

(2 Ratings)
Recommended for the hospitable staff, cheap drinks and one of the gayest brunches in town
Smokey, frat-boy infested bar during the week (have at em, queens!) that transforms into a frickin' gay mecca around brunch time. Bartenders are sometimes queer as the day is long which makes for interesting interactions with shitfaced frat boys. Cheap mimosas tie the whole experience together.

Disappointing

I went there to brunch after noticing this place not too far from my church. However, the food was very bland. The gays that seem to come here seem very unfriendly and the staff itself wasnt that inviting, except for the server girl (yes a real one too).

Didn't realize it at the time...

I actually did meet up here on a Sunday with some queers I had met out the night before, but didn't realize at the time that this was the gay brunch spot. The food was good, but it's not the same kind of big gay brunch scene you'd get in DC or some other large city. The funny thing about Richmond is that all the restaurants in the city (excluding the suburbs) look the same. They're all in old, narrow, brick buildings. I like that it gives character to the city, but it's hard to remember which restaurant is which.
